Canisius High School Today
30
ver the summer, Canisius High School alumni received a magnet and an invitation to share their success stories with
incoming freshmen in the class of 2017. Alumni are asked to have their photograph taken with the magnet in front of a
landmark in their city or outside their workplace with a brief description of their career path since graduating from
Canisius High School. The photos and stories will be part of the 2014 Freshman Retreat on February 28 featuring the theme
“One to Become,”
“Our goal is to share the many different alumni stories at the Freshman Retreat as a way to help
freshmen recognize the brotherhood they have entered at Canisius High School,”
explains Christopher
Pitek ’00, director of student formation and the retreat director.
“We aim to demonstrate that in our great
diversity, we remain united by the community experience of Canisius.”
A reproduction of the magnet is included below for anyone who may not have received a magnet and
as a friendly reminder to participate in sending photographs. To share a photograph of your life
experience since graduating from Canisius or to request a magnet be mailed to you, please e-mail
with the subject line “Freshman Retreat Photos” or scan the QR code to
the right. The deadline for sending photos is November 30. Your participation is greatly appreciated as
we build on the CHS legacy.
