Newly elected trustees bring passion, experience to board
Rocco Maggiotto ’68
Inducted into the Distinguished Alumni
Hall of Honor at Canisius in 2002,
Rocco Maggiotto ’68 brings a wealth of
experience in financial services to the
board. He is currently co-founder and
CEO of PWRcierge LLC, a power company
that provides co-generation solutions for
nursing homes and other not-for-profit
facilities in New York, Connecticut and
New Jersey. After Canisius High School,
Mr. Maggiotto earned a bachelor of arts degree in political
science from Canisius College and an MBA in Finance
from Canisius College and the New York University (NYU)
Stern School of Business. Prior to forming PWRcierge,
Maggiotto served as executive vice president and global
head of customer and distribution management for Zurich
Financial Services and its $35 billion general insurance
business. He currently serves on a number of boards
including Canisius College, Lucid, Inc., a medical device
company in Rochester, NY, and World Gold Trust
Services which sponsors the Gold ETF, trading as GLD.
Mr. Maggiotto has two adult children and resides with his
wife in New York City and Vermont.

I grew up in, which I love and still support
strongly,”

Members of four generations of the
Manzella family have graduated from
Canisius High School so it is fair to say
Anthony Manzella ’72 knows the school
well. His grandfather, father, four brothers
and son are all Crusaders. Mr. Manzella
was founder, owner and president of
Manzella Productions, a manufacturer
and marketer of sports and recreation
gloves. He sold the business in 2011 to
Totes-Isotoner where he is serving as general manager.
Mr. Manzella brings a broad range of business experience to
his role as trustee, particularly inmanagement andmarketing.
Following graduation from Canisius High School, he earned
his undergraduate degree from Canisius College and an
MBA from the University of Richmond. He was director
of marketing for Perfect Fit Glove before forming his own
company in 1982. He and his wife have three children and
reside in the Snyder-Eggertsville area.

As president of Abbey Mecca & Company,
a second-generation branding, advertising
and marketing communications firm,
Daniel Mecca ’87, works with a diverse
group of businesses and organizations
in building and promoting their brands.
Abbey Mecca & Company was founded
in 1969 by Nicholas D. Mecca, ’52, Dan’s
father. Mr. Mecca’s more than 20 years of
experience and expertise in the adver-
tising and marketing field offer a great asset to the board as
Canisius High School continues to build on its strong brand
of excellence in Jesuit education.
Mr. Mecca earned a bachelor’s degree in English and
communication, as well as an MBA from Canisius College.
Mr. Mecca serves on the Board of Trustees for the
Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo,
Board of Directors of Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center,
and Junior Achievement of Western New York. He and
his wife and three children reside inWilliamsville, NY.
